In 1960 The Brighton family sisters, Maureen (13) and Annabel (16), receive a mysterious inheritance from their mother. The shoebox contains a letter, one folded tapestry marked Maureen, and a giant crystal with a mermaid on the handle. They are instructed to get to Aventurine and find Annabel’s lost tapestry.
The sisters find their own magic along with friends, love, and enemies as they learn what it means to be coded for greatness.

Jan Bozarth is the author of the beloved 6 book preteen fantasy fiction series,The Fairy Godmother Academy. The follow-on series for young teens, Coded for Greatness begins with the Queens of Aventurine set to release in November 2023. Jan has written songs including an audiobook, Pet Eyes, with a full score and story co-written with her son, Shane Madden. Jan has received awards for her writing and designing for games, music, videos, and products for kids, girls, and families.
Bella Madden is the illustrator for the book covers and interior images. She is a recent graduate in fashion design from FDIM in Los Angeles. She has started her design career dressing rock stars and showing at New York Fashion Week and several runway shows in Los Angeles.
